PDS Go Green for Springhill Hospice

Last week in a campaign to raise money for their partner charity and business buddy, PDS joined Springhill Hospice along with many other Rochdale based businesses and communities in painting the town green.

The Go Green campaign was launched last year to mark the hospice’s 25th anniversary and they managed to raise just short of £12,000, a tremendous success by anybody’s standards. This year’s efforts look to have been just as successful, the hospice are still awaiting the final figure raised but it is sure to be impressive considering how much went on across the borough in aid of the event.
Businesses got involved all across Rochdale participating in weird and wonderful things to raise as much money as possible for the hospice. In their efforts to fundraise PDS invited all staff to come into work dressed in the greenest outfits they could find. A selection of delicious cakes were on sale throughout the morning so employees could enjoy a tasty treat whilst taking a gamble on ‘Where’s Springy’ Springhill Hospice’s lottery card to find Springy in the borough of Rochdale.

A PDS Spokesperson says ‘The day was a lot of fun and the cherry on top of that delicious green cake was when Springy came for a visit and a group photograph’.
Needless to say the event was a raging success and not a crumb of cake was left by the end of the day. Together PDS managed to raise £232.

Lille Winterbottom, fundraiser at Springhill Hospice says ‘It was a fantastic day and a fantastic atmosphere across the town. There are so many charities out there so to see all the support, right from primary schools to big businesses is really important to us.’

PDS are big supporters of Springhill Hospice and are soon to participate in the Granfondo Stelvio Santini Cycling Challenge in Northern Italy for which they are aiming to raise £10k for the charity.
