The 2 storey wash stone property was built in the early 19th Century and is considered a building of historical interest. A local couple had developed an interest in the property after falling in love with its charm and character. Although this was slightly masked by its slowly deteriorating state the couple were able to identify the properties potential and knew that with some care and attention the building could be returned to its former glory.

They made the decision to purchase it with the vision of conserving it, reinstating its charm and intrigue and making it their dream family home. The owners of the property considered a variety of firms however after visiting PDS’ factory in December 2014 they were very impressed and knew that PDS’ Flush Fitting Casement Windows were the right fit. They went on to place an order in January for 22 Windows and a French Door.

The fact this building is one of historical interest could be seen as a challenge for some developers as this meant that the property had to be renovated with consideration as to not ‘spoil’ the building. The idea of placing PVC windows on a building of such heritage would be enough to give any developer nightmares; however the owners of this delightful cottage approached the project in a tasteful manner and selected an array of stunning Timber Windows combined with a French Door to open up the home to its enchanting surroundings.

The couple were over the moon with their experience of PDS, the products were of a high quality and had a long guarantee, the ordering process was quick and easy and delivery was prompt. ‘The world and his wife have commented on our windows, asking where we sourced them. They love the colour, style etc. we have even had notes put through the door asking where we got them- we are really happy with the products and would definitely use PDS again, we are considering a new front door and also a possible extension.’
PDS commented ‘we are pleased to have been involved in this local conservation project. Wood is the only manufacturing material that should be considered for a project of this kind. It would be a crime to compliment the water shot stone and slate roof with a non-organic material. The property now looks absolutely stunning and will certainly get some enviable stares of the people walking around the lake’.
