ENVIRONMENTAL

PDS and its Directors recognise that we have a significant responsibility to ensure our impact on the environment is minimised at all times.

From sourcing timber from certifiable forests through to recycling within our production process, we carefully monitor our environmental performance, whilst continually seeking new ways to develop our product portfolio.

DESIGN

Conservation of energy is the main design consideration to all PDS Doors.

Our products are designed in co-operation with local environmental regulation.

WASTE

We routinely recycle as much waste material as possible. Recyclable material is stored in designated containers for retrieval by specialist recycling organisations.  Our waste PVCu product is collected by the profile manufacturer and then reused to produce ancillary items.

POLLUTION

Chemicals that are used to protect and conserve our products are always selected with the intention to keep the negative impact on our environment to a minimal. We continue to make large investments in our manufacturing technology to ensure that no surplus material leaves the controlled environment of our factory.

SUSTAINABILITY

All PDS timber-based material suppliers are obligated to ensure that, as a minimum, the wood that is supplied to us is sourced in accordance with local legal forestry and logging controls.

When the code for sustainable homes forms part of the development specification, Timber Doors are increasingly becoming the specifiers preferred choice. Timber products always score highly for both sustainability as well as thermal performance.

Our Product range combines energy-saving efficiency along with quality in a cost-effective package that is ideal for when sustainable products are required. We actively promote the installation of the best possible energy saving products available. By upgrading the thermal efficiency of your doors and windows, you will reduce your carbon footprint, save money on your energy bills and at the same time improve your living environment.

MATERIALS

Wherever practicable, all materials used by PDS must be manufactured and procured from suppliers demonstrating the most environmentally sympathetic policies, operating in accordance with the relevant laws of their country. Where a better specification of material is available to provide an increased lifetime performance, it will invariably be used by us, in preference to a cheaper short term alternative.

RESOURCES

Raw materials and part components are selected from renewable sustainable resources whenever possible.

Additionally, all our doorset component parts must have a Zero ODP rating and a Global Warning of less than 5.

PRODUCTS

Wherever possible all products within our current portfolio are manufactured with the following components and materials:-

ENERGY

The Products we use are produced from materials, which naturally take the least amount of energy to produce.

We actively promote the installation of the best possible energy saving products available.

By upgrading the thermal efficiency of your doors and windows, you will reduce your carbon footprint, save money on your energy bills and at the same time improve your living environment.
