Fire Testing to EN 1634-1 and why it’s important
EN 1634-1 is a European standard for testing fire-resisting door sets. PDS now tests door sets to EN1634-1 as standard practice, this has overtaken testing to the British standard BS 476-22 in many cases.

Fire Ratings for fire doors are stated in minutes and prefixed by the letters FD.
FD30 refers to a 30-minute Fire Door or Fire Doorset offering at least 30 minutes of protection against fires.
FD60 refers to a 60-minute Fire Door or Fire Doorset offering at least 60 minutes of protection against fires.
Our Doors have been tested against a temperature-controlled furnace to achieve this rating.
