May 2021 - Made in the Northwest - We're shortlisted!
Great News, the shortlist for the ‘Made in the Northwest 2021’ Awards has been announced, and PDS have been shortlisted for the ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ Award – Congratulations to the PDS Team🍾
Not only that… our Charlotte Wilson has also been shortlisted for the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ Award – Congratulations Charlotte, well-deserved and Good Luck 🍾
16th Jan 2021 - New Lease of Life
A Salford tower once earmarked for demolition has been given a new lease of life. Salix Homes and The Casey Group have completed a £7.5m improvement project at Fitzwarren Court, which has seen the high-rise building undergo a major facelift. PDS were chosen as the Fire Door Supplier for this outstanding project.
22nd Jan 2021 - New Apprentices joining PDS
PDS are pleased to say we have 2 new apprentices joining our Sales and Finance Teams in the next couple of weeks.
Together we will ‘Build Back Better’.
14th Dec 2020 - Food Bank Donations
Thank you for all your Food Bank Donations. So far we now have well over £300 worth of donations to deliver. There is still time to contribute as deliveries are being made on Friday 18th December.

PDS are proud to be supporting Hopwood Hall College ‘Build Back Better’ Pledge by employing more apprentices and giving students in the Rochdale Borough the opportunity to gain workplace skills through industry placements as well as upskilling our existing workforce.

PDS were proud to be involved with the Rochdale Giving Back Toy Appeal organised by Rochdale Council. We donated over £1000 worth of Toys to this much-needed appeal. Every child should have a gift at Christmas. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
1st Dec 2020 - PDS is in the News again
PDS, in Littleborough, had only 60 staff and a turnover of £7m when former co-founder Tim Fairley headed up a 14-strong consortium and bought it back in March 2019.
In just 18 months the company has recruited 40 new members of staff to take the workforce to exactly 100 and grown turnover to £10m – despite being locked down at the start of Covid-19.

21st Sept 2020 - Fire Door Safety Week
PDS – Proudly supporting Fire Door Safety Week again this year. Fire Door Safety Week exists to stamp out the legacy of fire door neglect and to educate on the importance of fire door safety. To launch this year’s campaign, we have shared research into the state of fire door maintenance, inspection and replacement programmes across local authority owned and managed housing in the UK.
28th June 2020 - PDS Expansion Plans in the news
Fire door manufacturer PDS is pressing ahead with its expansion plans in the wake of Covid-19.
Based in Littleborough, PDS – which stands for Performance Doorset Solutions – currently employs 97 people but managing director Tim Fairley said that number would increase.
“We are still on a recruitment drive and are just in the process of taking on another large manufacturing unit to expand into two other sectors for our product,” he said. “Watch this space.”
Tim Fairley co-founded the company in 2003 and grew to a turnover of £13.5m and a workforce of 148 people when it was acquired by US-based door manufacturer Masonite International Corporation.
28th April 2020 - PDS REOPENS FOR BUSINESS
Important Company Update: PDS Re-opens for business After just over 4 weeks of closure due to the COVI-19 situation, PDS have reopened from Monday 27th April. As a leading manufacturer of security firedoors for the construction sector carrying out building safety improvements, PDS’s products are once again in high demand, with many main contractors already desperate for deliveries. Contractors undertaking the installation work have been asked by government ministers to safely return to site and recommence these works as soon as possible.

PDS DONATES 200 BOTTLES OF HAND SANITISERS
1st April 2020 – PDS DONATES 200 BOTTLES OF HAND SANITISER TO KEY FRONTLINE WORKERS
Local business Performance Doorset Solutions (PDS) has donated over 200 bottles of hand sanitiser to key frontline workers.
The company’s suppliers provided the small bottles of sanitiser, which has been shared between nurses at Royal Oldham Hospital, Springhill Hospice, community nurses and two local care homes.
